National Visual Arts Competition & Exhibition Opening Sunday


The JCDC/NGJ National Visual Arts Competition & Exhibition 2010 opens this Sunday at the National Gallery of Jamaica – Orange Street, Downtown Kingston at 3:00 p.m.

153 awards will be presented to 103 artists.

Admission is free.

Members of the public will be invited to vote for their favourite piece in the show. The artwork receiving the most votes will receive a cash prize and a trophy. The winner will be announced later.

The exhibition will close on August 28 after which a portion of the exhibition will travel to three other locations across the island.

National Gallery Viewing Hours: Tuesdays – Thursdays 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m, Fridays 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m, Sundays & Mondays – Closed

Public Voting: July 25 – August 7 during National Gallery opening hours
