Why Do Jamaicans Run So Fast?

On Saturday August 8th Redbones Cafe presents a short film entitled, Why Do Jamaicans Run So Fast?

“The eighth of August is one year exactly since the opening of the Beijing Olympics, which the Jamaicans took by storm and won just about every sprint event on the track. The world has now stood up and noticed and wants to know, “Why do Jamaicans run so fast?

“The Spanish filmmaking team of producer Fernando Guerta and director Miguel Galofre asked the same question and got several people to weigh in on the issue including the athletes, their families and just about anyone who had an opinion.

What results is a lively documentary which has a great Jamaican vibe created by the many locals that got to express themselves in their unique Jamaican way on a subject very dear to their hearts. That great vibe is helped on even more by the upbeat reggae soundtrack and the spectacular footage of our track heroes winning gold in Beijing.

If you enjoyed watching Usain and company tear up the track at the Olympics last year then this is a definite must-see!”

This was a really well done and clever film- highly recommended.

Let’s hope they can clear all the music that’s in it though…
