Green Lion’s innovative reggae dubstep project, the Rough Road Riddim, featuring Jahdan Blakkamoore, Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Dre Island, Zamunda and Cronsyncro is out today.
Award-winning producer Zeke Stern, aka Green Lion, responsible for OkayPlayer/LargeUp’s #5 Top UK Dancehall Tune in 2012 (“We Run England” performed by Mr Williamz) connects the pop music trends of reggae, dubstep, dub and dancehall on the Rough Road Riddim. Including some of the most acclaimed reggae and bass music vocalists of our time—Jahdan Blakkamoore (whose colabs with Major Lazer in 2011 and Snoop Dogg in 2013 compliment his iTunes Reggae Album of the Year awards—in 2008 for Take Charge with his band Noble Society and 2009 for the solo release Buzzrock Warrior), Chronixx (Major Lazer recording artist), Kabaka Pyramid (Billboard Magazine’s #1 ‘Next Big Sound’ in May 2013), Dre Island, Zamunda and Cron Syncro—the Rough Road captures a unique generational milestone in both music and message. Green Lion’s previous releases include the More Spiritual Riddim (#1 on Reggae-Vibes, #1 on Hot N Fresh, “A Future Classic.”-Music Is My Sanctuary) and “Come Down” performed by Billboard-charting recording artist Collie Buddz (featured on Hip Hop superstar’s website thisis50.com and included on Collie Buddz’ 2010 Playback EP). The cover art for the project was created by Jamaican visual artist, Taj Francis.
