Check out this slide show produced by Marc Goodman.

According to Marc, this is “a slideshow aiming to raise awareness of Pellew Island, one of Jamaica’s most iconic places, now under threat of development. The island is private property, which leads to a larger question of why the government or other entities doesn’t take action to safeguard this and our remaining natural treasures in perpetuity, most likely by buying these properties from private owners with the aid of international donors”.

I grew up snorking around that island and learnt to water ski in that area, I cannot believe that NEPA would really give this approval.

Save this treasure. How contradictory it is to destory the natural environment of unmatched beauty, under the misguided notion of “creating beauty” for the few to enjoy.

Development of this island would be an absolute shame and further destroy the natural environment of San San, which has already suffered due to the multitude of horrendous houses along the Blue Hole strip
